saturday, january 24th...
it ended up not sucking.

quick band review:
the secret society of the sonic six, im sorry but i didnt like them one bit. & considering i have a broad taste in music, it sorta came as a shock, cuz i had looked them up & they were "industrial" which i like but then oh no. no bueno. i must agree w/ all the ppl behind me hoping their set would end soon.

lazrtag spinned some pretty good beats, kept me dancing which is always a good sign. i knew about 98% of what they played. last yr ppl didnt really dance to the dj, which was sleazy v who is know known as harvard bass, but i just call him victor(i feel weird calling djs i know by their artistic name).

the knux were BOMB. when i saw that a "hiphop" group was going to perfmorm, i was litteraly speechless. bcuz m>u & hiphop aren't really 2 things i'd normally put in the same sentence. but i was surprisingly pleased :) they were really really good. i've downloaded their music already.

moving units... oh how i still love them considering my past w/ _____. ultimately, they are still a great band & im still a fan of their music. i was expecting the pit to be vicious, but i went prepared. my fav part, when chris announced that the next song was dedicated to their fans who've been to more than one show, & then they played "going for adds" which in the 9384098 times i've seen them, they hadn't played, ever. so i was pleased beyond belief.

as for the events prior to, during, inbetween sets, & after the show...
u really had to be there to experience the awesomeness of our convos.
few facts:
marilu almost got us killed a couple of times on our way.
"what are the vagina monologues? like do they talk bout that??" haha.
chris(the drummer) walking by, looking really thin from the last time i saw him.
realizing how much we love him & miss him & should have kept in touch w/ him.

rene thinking he might have gotten preggers.

gross little boy trying to dance w/ my.
daisy carefully removing his hand off of me.

i have come to narrow down my "taste"
+21 yrs old(but under 30, hey i like older men but not that old), college educated(or in process), nerdy(w/ or w/out glasses), SEXY, shaggy hair(can be short, or long jesus hair. depends on the guy), scruff is ALWAYS sexy, but at the same time keeping clean is a must, effortless style, lean or not too built. no particular race/ethnicity preffered, appreciation for the real good music aka rock & its sub divisions(indie, alt, etc.), & being a musician is a plus(& a minus, trust me i've tried dating this before but its still attracts me).
that short lived other taste i had like a yr ago is no more.
i've gone back to the original taste.

haven't played in a couple of days

this wkend was full of it. in no particular order:
movies & coffee, the "talk" but a comical one w/ the best friend which im sure we've had plenty of times before but this one was the funniest, cleaned, cooked, sundaes, hw & more hw, my own laundry, babysat=made $$$. spent that $$$ in 2 stores, victoria's secret & bakers :)
time it took me to make that $: a wk, long hrs of work.
time it took me to spend that $ & then some: 1 hr?
i am now broke, but i can assure you i am pleased w/ my purchases.

oh the holidays, a time for family & friends, loved ones.
i miss my parents a lot a lot.
i miss some friends a lot a lot.
you know how people get all lonely & shit during the holidays?
i think im finally getting some real closure in that department
& im really happy about it.
i've moved on, we both seem happy w/ our lives now,
& i truly do wish this person well.

It amazes me to see the reaction I get when I talk about this class. My friends, you know the mature ones, see it as what it is, just a class. It just happens to be about sex, get over it already. I learned just as much there as I would in a math class, a problem may be presented, here is the info on how to fix it. Big deal.
Did I learn things I would have never learn in math or english? Of course, but ultimately, just because I take a class does not mean I am out there like other girls. I educated myself for the better.

last nite was all sorts of amazing.
There were known people left & right.

& I am just happy to have been there to be part of it.
Alex walking over the crowd to get to the 2nd floor & then jumping back onto us was amazing. His back feels nice, lol.

But my FAV part of the night, was def. when they went onto saying that the band is really old. And to make his point, Alex said that STP's "Plush" was the hit at the time when they got started. He played the beginning and then the others just went along and started playing it.
AHHH! That was amazing. I will miss out on STP at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Xmas buuuuuuuuut I at least got that small cover from an amazing band during their final show.
